All Saints’ Day (Wszystkich Świętych) Photo Rally – Capture an Instant and share it via Instagram

If you live in Poland and you’re not Polish, All Saints’ Day might just be a day like any other, just another holiday in your work calendar, an excuse to stay at home and avoid the mushy pavement and side-walks covered in a slippery pulp of snow, dirt and fallen leaves. It might be just another day to anticipate the close down of all grocery stores and corner shops. If you’re Mexican, it might just be the day before all Souls’ Day. If you’re not Polish and you’re not catholic it might just be another simple wintery-autumn day, however, it is the day when Polish cemeteries literally light up and come alive.

So, if you’re not Polish and you’re either only passing through or still passing through after a few years in Poland, we encourage you to seize the day, get out there and capture the shimmering lights of candles on graves and the devotion with which people crowd the labyrinthine necropolis with your smart phone.

Follow the light, visit the graveyards, aim your smart phone and take a snapshot using Instagram. Share your photo and add the hashtag: #allsaints12.
